A Journey of Dedication: The Inspiring Story Behind Our Krav Maga Course This Wednesday, our community will have the unique opportunity to participate in a Krav Maga course led by a senior instructor who was responsible for training Krav Maga in the Israeli Air Force. But this is no ordinary course—there’s an inspiring story behind it.
In 2016, Rabbi Meir met the Levinson family from Queens while studying at the central Chabad Yeshiva in New York. The father, inspired by the Tanya, asked Rabbi Meir to study with his 13-year-old son, Roy, once a week. What started as a study session turned into a lasting bond that continued even after Rabbi Meir left New York.
As Roy grew up, his love for Israel led him to enlist in the IDF, despite many opportunities in the U.S. In 2024, after nearly four years of service, Roy returned to the U.S., while staying in touch with Rabbi Meir. During these years, he closely observed the growth of the community here in Virginia Beach, and when he returned, he wanted to support it in his own way. Roy decided to lead this special Krav Maga course to help ensure we’re able to protect ourselves.
Roy’s visit presents a rare opportunity to learn from an expert while connecting to a story of selflessness, dedication, and love for Israel.
For those interested, there’s still time to register! Don’t miss this meaningful experience.
