Yesterday’s Hanukkah Car Parade was a vibrant celebration, spreading light and joy across Virginia Beach! With two police cars leading the way, the parade traveled through the city’s main streets—starting on Atlantic Avenue, continuing through Laskin and Virginia Beach Boulevard, and finishing at the Town Center. The parade was met with a warm welcome from over 100 people.
At the heart of the celebration was the lighting of a beautiful menorah, glowing brightly against the backdrop of festive holiday lights. Participants enjoyed fresh sufganiyot (donuts), glowing Hanukkah gifts, and festive chocolate coins. A special moment of the event was honoring the police surgeon, who had the privilege of lighting the shamash, followed by parade participants kindling the remaining eight candles.
This event was a powerful reminder of Hanukkah’s message—that even in challenging times, light will always triumph over darkness. The support from our neighbors in Virginia Beach was heartwarming and inspiring. Together, we made the city shine brighter and spread the true spirit of the season.
