Chabad of Virginia Beach:
A Home for Every Jew
At Chabad of Virginia Beach, we believe that every Jew is family. Every Jew belongs, and we are dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming community where everyone can find their place, connect to their identity, and experience meaningful Jewish life.
What We Do
We open our doors to everyone—regardless of background, religious level, or prior connection.
-
Weekly Torah classes that invite everyone to explore and deepen their knowledge.
-
Shabbat prayers and Jewish celebrations that fill hearts with warmth and joy.
-
A variety of events and programs tailored to people at every stage of life.
Why We’re Here
We’re here because we recognize a real need: addressing the challenge of disconnection from Jewish identity. For many, Judaism feels distant, and traditional synagogues or communities are not easily accessible. We bridge that gap by creating a space where every Jew can learn, connect, and feel a sense of belonging.
Our Success Speaks for Itself Time and again, we hear from individuals who found meaning, connection, and inspiration with us—even if they had never felt connected before. We’re not just a community—we’re a family that’s turning dreams into reality and leading transformative change.
Beyond the Local Community
We’re committed to the continuity of the Jewish people in Virginia Beach:
-
Organizing inspiring Jewish events and supporting existing institutions.
-
Assisting with personal milestones like Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, mezuzah installation, or tefillin.
-
Helping visitors find kosher food, accommodations, and meet other Jewish needs while they’re in the area.
-
Welcome Home Chabad of Virginia Beach is a place for every Jew, with no boundaries and no barriers. We are here for you, creating a vibrant, warm, and inspiring community. Our doors are always open—we can’t wait to welcome you!

Rabbi Meir Lessoff, born and raised in Kfar Chabad, Israel, moved to Virginia Beach in March 2021 with his wife Adina and their two children (now four). With encouragement and guidance from Chabad of Virginia, they came to establish a center that would serve as a spiritual home for the area’s 6,000+ Jewish residents and the many Jewish tourists who visit each year.
From the very beginning, the mission of Rabbi Meir has been to provide a welcoming space where every Jew feels at home, regardless of background or level of observance. The center operates and thrives thanks to the partnership and generosity of those who believe in its vision and support its work. Rabbi Meir’s classes, community events, and the inclusive atmosphere have made Chabad a beacon for Jewish life and connection in Virginia Beach.
Whether you’re seeking Jewish learning, a mitzvah opportunity, or simply a warm community to call home, reach out to Rabbi Meir, he would be excited to take your call.
